Fresh from Maine. Live when it arrives. A true taste of New England.
Ships overnight in an insulated box with gel packs.
We ship Monday through Thursday so your order stays moving and lands before the weekend. Order by noon Eastern and it goes out that day.
Seafood is perishable, so items cannot be returned. If something arrives wrong, send us photos within 4 hours of delivery and we'll make it right. Live lobster photos have to show the lobsters flat on their backs.
Boil is the simplest and the hardest to get wrong. Big pot, heavily salted water, rolling boil, in head first, cover it.
Roughly 15 minutes for a 1 to 2 pound lobster, and about 20 minutes for anything over 2 pounds. Start counting when the water comes back to a boil.
Never fresh water before cooking. Never a sealed container in the fridge.

The first 10 minutes
Everything ships in a single insulated box. Nothing loose, nothing rattling, nothing you have to figure out.
Cut the tape, lift the flap. They'll be alive and cold. That's normal.
Move them to the fridge, or straight to the pot.
Don't put them in fresh water. Ever.
Cook within 24-48 hours for the best of it.
Cook within 24-48 hours for the best of it.
It takes about seven years for a Gulf of Maine lobster to reach a pound. The water is cold enough that they grow slowly and put on dense, sweet meat instead of water weight.
They're hauled by hand off small day boats, one trap at a time, and measured on deck against limits Maine has been enforcing since 1872; undersized and oversized both go back over the rail.
